Stress Disorders

Stress is a regular occurrence in everybody. Workouts, school, work, life changes, disturbing life events, and other common occurrences can lead to stress. When stress becomes regular, it affects the health and it is usually hard to notice. More attention should, therefore, be placed on how both significant and minor stressful events are being handled. All types of stress pose a major threat to both physical and mental health.

People prepare or perform more under stress, for instance, when looking forward to a test or a job interview. Your body, however, responds by facing the threat or flees for protection. Your muscles start to become tense, breath quickens, the brain starts to work more as it absorbs more oxygen, all aimed at surviving. If the stress becomes regular or predominant, it poses a serious risk to your health. Too much stress will make the body begin to suppress the immune, reproductive and digestive systems. It will lead to their irregular functioning.
